Local Businesses, Diva Boutique and Bayway Auto Group Raise Funds for Southeast Texas Breast Cancer Nonprofit The Rose

Woodlands, TX [December 27, 2018] – Everyone came out a winner when supporters of The Rose gathered for the This is How We Roll 1st Annual Pink Stroll at Bayway Auto Group during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Doreen King with Diva Boutique in The Woodlands and Linda Wischnewsky with Bayway Auto Group organized the event which raised $8,657 for Southeast Texas’ leading breast healthcare nonprofit which is a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.

“Linda and I were thrilled to support The Rose, an organization that does so much in the community. We look forward to even bigger event next year,” said King.

Declaring “that’s how we roll,” they offered a chance to win a year’s lease on a new car and raffled a $1000 shopping spree. Ticket holders enjoyed pink champagne and lite bites while taking in live music and a fashion show.

“The Rose focuses on doing all we can to take the chance out of what could be tragic situations,” said Co-Founder and CEO Dorothy Gibbons. “For example, 40 women under 40 were diagnosed with cancer at one of our facilities or via our mobile units last year. If we weren’t willing to break down barriers, these women may not have had the opportunity to be navigated to care.”

While Lorna Carlson will be driving her reward and Stefanie Maslowski can take pride in having claimed the prize for best pink shoes, all in attendance can know they were a part of saving lives through quality breast healthcare services, advocacy and access to care for all. Support ensures that nearly 45 uninsured women will have access to live-saving 3D mammograms.

“We are so grateful for organizers such as Doreen and Linda and businesses like Diva Boutique and Bayway Auto Group for their support of our mission,” Gibbons added.
